DELIVERY AND UNLOADING POLICY
Delivery & Unloading Policy
Professional, coordinated delivery for eligible lawn and garden equipment orders throughout the contiguous United States, with complimentary ground-level unloading included.
Free shipping and coordinated unloading
Garden Machinery Direct provides complimentary ground shipping and professional unloading for eligible equipment orders delivered within the contiguous United States.
You do not need to arrange a forklift or separate lifting equipment. We coordinate the unloading process with the freight carrier so your equipment can be removed from the delivery vehicle and placed at a safe, accessible ground-level location.
Unloading does not include indoor placement, installation, assembly, or movement into garages, buildings, sheds, or other structures.
How the delivery process works
Access Review
Delivery access may be reviewed before dispatch to confirm that the destination can safely accommodate the required truck and unloading equipment.
Freight Routing
Your equipment is dispatched and routed through the appropriate freight network or nearby delivery terminal for final scheduling.
Delivery Appointment
The carrier contacts you before arrival to arrange an available delivery window and confirm the receiving details.
Ground-Level Unloading
The delivery team unloads the shipment and places it at the nearest safe, clear, and accessible ground-level location on the property.
The service selected for your location
Flatbed delivery with onboard forklift
- The destination’s accessibility is reviewed before shipment when necessary.
- The freight is routed to the appropriate local delivery hub.
- The carrier contacts you to arrange a 2–4 hour weekday delivery window between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- The driver uses an onboard forklift to unload the crate at a safe ground-level location.
Final-mile delivery service
For restricted-access, residential, or more complex delivery locations, your shipment may be transferred to a final-mile delivery provider.
- The shipment is collected from the freight terminal for final delivery.
- Tilt-bed, hydraulic, or other suitable unloading equipment may be used.
- Placement is made at the nearest safe and accessible ground-level point.
The delivery method is selected according to shipment size, carrier availability, property access, and local service capabilities.
Help the carrier complete a safe delivery

Be available to receive the order

- The recipient must inspect and sign for the shipment.
- Keep your phone available in case the carrier needs delivery directions.
Customer responsibilities and service limits
- Someone must be present to receive, inspect, and sign for the equipment during the confirmed delivery window.
- The delivery site must provide safe, unobstructed access for the truck and unloading equipment.
- Unloading and placement are limited to the nearest safe, accessible ground-level location.
