What to expect after placing your order
Order Processing
Most confirmed orders are prepared for dispatch within 2–5 business days.
Estimated Transit
Most contiguous U.S. deliveries arrive approximately 6–13 business days after dispatch.
Freight Scheduling
Large equipment deliveries are normally scheduled in advance using the telephone number entered at checkout.
Processing and transit times are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates. Product type, destination, carrier capacity, access conditions, weather, and peak demand may affect the schedule.
Where we ship
Our standard delivery service covers physical addresses within the contiguous United States, also known as the lower 48 states.
- We cannot deliver to P.O. boxes.
- We cannot deliver to APO or FPO addresses.
- Rural, remote, gated, or restricted-access locations may require additional carrier coordination.
- The delivery address must be suitable for the parcel vehicle or freight truck assigned to the shipment.
Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories
Contact Garden Machinery Direct before placing an order for delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or another U.S. territory. We will review available service options and provide a custom freight quote where delivery can be arranged.
The right delivery service for each order
Freight truck delivery
Ride-on mowers, lawn tractors, zero-turn mowers, larger robotic mower systems, and other palletized equipment are generally shipped through a freight carrier.
- The equipment is secured for freight transportation.
- The carrier normally contacts you before delivery.
- Eligible orders include coordinated ground-level unloading unless the product page states otherwise.
Parcel and ground delivery
Grass trimmers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, accessories, replacement parts, and other smaller products may be shipped through a standard parcel or ground-delivery carrier.
The shipping method is selected according to product dimensions, weight, packaging, destination, and carrier requirements. The applicable service and any shipping charge will be shown on the product page, during checkout, or in your order documentation.
How delivery charges are determined
Large Machinery Orders
Qualifying equipment orders delivered within the contiguous United States include complimentary freight shipping and professional ground-level unloading unless a different term is clearly stated on the product page.
Additional carrier charges may apply when a destination requires special access arrangements, additional equipment, storage, re-delivery, or non-standard services.
Tools, Parts, and Accessories
Some smaller orders qualify for free shipping when they meet the cart-value or product conditions displayed on our website.
When free shipping does not apply, the available shipping charge is calculated and shown before payment is confirmed.
Preparing your order for dispatch
Most orders are processed within 2–5 business days after confirmation. Processing begins before the carrier’s transit period and may include:
- Order and contact-detail verification
- Payment confirmation and clearance
- Product preparation and applicable pre-dispatch inspection
- Protective packing, crating, or pallet preparation
- Booking the appropriate parcel or freight carrier
Orders placed during holidays, peak periods, or unusually high demand may require the upper end of the processing range.
Estimated delivery after dispatch
After an order leaves the dispatch location, delivery to most addresses in the contiguous United States is estimated to take approximately 6–13 business days.
Rural, remote, restricted-access, or hard-to-reach destinations may require additional transit or scheduling time.
The estimated delivery window begins after dispatch. It does not include the 2–5 business day order-processing period.
Appointments and ground-level unloading
Large lawn and garden machinery shipped by freight normally requires a scheduled delivery appointment. The carrier will use the telephone number provided at checkout to arrange or confirm delivery.
Unloading Service
Ground-level unloading is included for qualifying freight orders. The carrier may use a liftgate, onboard forklift, tilt-bed system, or another suitable unloading method according to the shipment and location.
Site Accessibility
The property must be accessible to a full-size freight truck and its unloading equipment. Notify us before dispatch about narrow roads, gated entrances, steep access, low branches, weight restrictions, or other site limitations.
Unloading is limited to the nearest safe and accessible ground-level location. It does not include indoor placement, assembly, installation, or movement into a garage, shed, workshop, or other structure.
Customer receiving responsibilities
- Provide a correct and reachable telephone number when ordering.
- Ensure an adult is available during the agreed delivery appointment.
- Clear the driveway, access road, gate, and designated unloading area.
- Ensure the unloading surface is firm, level, and safe for the carrier’s equipment.
- Keep pets, children, vehicles, and other obstructions away from the unloading area.
- Inspect the shipment before signing the carrier’s delivery paperwork.
If the carrier cannot safely access the property or no one is available at the confirmed time, carrier-imposed storage, access, re-delivery, or return charges may be passed on to the customer.
Confirmation and tracking information
Order Confirmation
After checkout, an order-confirmation email is sent to confirm that your order has been received.
Dispatch Confirmation
When the order ships, you will receive available tracking information, carrier details, or a freight Bill of Lading number by email.
Freight tracking may show terminal movements rather than a precise doorstep-delivery time. The carrier will normally contact you when appointment scheduling is required.
Check your delivery details carefully
Before completing checkout, confirm that your shipping address, email address, and telephone number are accurate and complete.
Contact Garden Machinery Direct as soon as possible if an address correction is needed. We will review whether the change can still be made.
Once a shipment has been booked or dispatched, an address change may be unavailable. Carrier charges for re-routing, re-delivery, storage, or address correction may be billed to the customer.
Inspect the shipment before signing
Check the crate, pallet, packaging, product, and listed quantity when the shipment arrives. Complete this inspection before signing the delivery receipt whenever reasonably possible.
- Look for punctures, crushing, broken packaging, exposed equipment, missing components, or visible product damage.
- Write any visible damage or shortage clearly on the carrier’s delivery receipt or Bill of Lading before signing.
- Take clear photographs of the packaging, equipment, shipping label, and affected areas.
- Keep all packaging and contact Garden Machinery Direct promptly with your order number and supporting details.
If concealed damage becomes visible after unpacking, retain the original packaging and notify our team promptly so the issue can be reviewed with the carrier under the applicable delivery, return, and warranty terms.
Events outside our control
Garden Machinery Direct and its carriers work to complete deliveries within the estimated schedule. However, a specific arrival date cannot be guaranteed when delays result from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
- Severe weather or natural disasters
- Carrier capacity limits or operational disruptions
- Road closures, traffic incidents, or transportation restrictions
- Labor disputes or strikes
- Government action or other force majeure events
When a delay occurs, we will assist with available tracking information and carrier communication, but we cannot guarantee a revised delivery date controlled by the carrier.
Orders already in transit
An order cancelled after it has been booked with the carrier, dispatched, or entered transit may be handled as a return rather than a standard pre-shipment cancellation.
Outbound freight, return freight, carrier charges, and any applicable restocking fees will be assessed according to the Refund & Return Policy and any product-specific conditions provided with the order.
